Former Massachusetts governor and onetime GOP White House hopeful Mitt Romney spent several hours Aug. 28 at a private La Jolla gathering for Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Governor Mitt Romney, Meg Whitman (retired CEO of eBay), Kelly Burt and Karolyn Dorsee hosted a breakfast at La Valencia with friends, to discuss the success and strategy of winning California on Nov. 4 for presidential candidate John McCain.

Marshall Merrifield, who attended the event, told KFMB-TV that Romney's "support of John McCain is clear.''
